All guest rooms and suites have a new design that reflects Mauna Lanis enduring elegance while also adapting to the high tech traveler. The new furnishings are in warm earth tones while the bedding and artwork are in cool soothing shades of green. The key to the refurbishment is keeping the guestrooms tranquil with a sitting area that also offers a desk with easy connections for powering up a laptop. Guestroom improvements include new artwork, wall coverings, carpeting, bedding and linens, a 27 TV, CD player, loveseat, writing desk and chairs. At Mauna Lani all guestrooms also feature spacious private lanais. In the Canoe House ponds, we display young sharks which are native to Hawaii. Among these are Galapagos sharks, Blacktip Reef sharks and Scalloped Hammerhead sharks. All of the sharks maintained at Mauna Lani are captured as juveniles about 18-20 inches in length. Our sharks are fed fresh fish scraps three times each week during the Fish Feeding Tour. The Mauna Lani Sports and Fitness Club features Life Fitness cardiovascular and strength training equipment, and a three-lane lap pool. Open at 6:00 a.m., we offer a variety of personalized sessions to help you meet your health goals. Mauna Lani Bay features five fabulous restaurants. Adjacent to the lush fishponds sits the al fresco Bay Terrace with its light Mediterranean cuisine. At poolside, the informal Ocean Grill serves fresh fish, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and pizzas. Mauna Lani Bay's signature restaurant, the Canoe House, features Pacific Asian cuisine in an oceanfront setting. One of the most romantic restaurants in the Islands, the CanoeHouse is named `best restaurant on the Big Island` by Honolulu magazine.
